LAN

— a jack used to wire the player to computer networks and provide related functions such as audio streaming or Internet radio (see related paragraphs). The abbreviation LAN itself stands for "local area network", however, in modern electronics, this interface can also provide direct access to the Internet. In general, LAN is not as convenient as Wi-Fi due to the need to use wires, however, this technology provides a higher data transfer rate, and in some cases such a connection is more preferable for other reasons (for example, in order to offload wireless channels).
