SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 is a full-size closed-back gaming headset with a detachable cable, offering official support for PC and all current gaming consoles (Playstation 4/5, Xbox One/Series S/X, Nintendo Switch). This model is part of the updated Artics Nova series and is the younger sibling to the Nova 3 and Nova 7 headsets. It is considered an entry-level device for gamers who are not interested in cheap headsets but do not see the point in buying an expensive model with features like lighting, wireless charging, etc.
The Nova models share a similar design but differ functionally. Despite being the junior model, it doesn't look any worse than the top-tier ones and hardly falls short of them in comfort level. Notably, the headband uses the same ComfortMAX elastic band, the body is well-assembled, the fabric ear cushions allow for breathability, the memory foam filler provides comfort, and the overall weight of the 236-gram design minimizes fatigue from extended use.
The headset is equipped with new 40-mm High Fidelity drivers with a sensitivity of 93 dB and a frequency range from 20 to 22000 Hz. For voice communication, there is an extendable bidirectional microphone with an intelligent ClearCast 2 noise-canceling system. The retractable microphone can be hidden inside when not needed, allowing the headset to be used as regular on-ear headphones. For connecting to PCs and consoles, the device is equipped with a detachable 1.2-meter cable with a 3.5-mm minijack. The headset is available in black and white colors.

I bought this as a replacement for the 2E HG340 (the headband cracked) and overall I'm pleased. I mainly use it while gaming on the PS5. The cord is short — I connect it directly to the gamepad, and it doesn’t dangle or get tangled underfoot, the length is just right. The volume is easily adjustable — there’s a dial right on the cup. I don’t use the microphone, but the fact that it’s built-in and retractable into the headphones is cool. You don’t need to connect anything separately, and it can't get lost (unlike the 2E HG340 where it was separate and always stayed in the box). The earpads are soft and pleasant to the touch, they fit well. However, after gaming for more than an hour, the ears warm up a bit and it gets slightly hot, but it's generally tolerable. The headband is also comfortable — it's made of fabric, not faux leather, which tends to crack over time. Plus, it can be removed and replaced if needed (as can the earpads). The cable is detachable — this is a real lifesaver, because I had old Sennheiser headphones whose cable simply fell apart due to age). The only discomfort was at the beginning of use — they pressed a bit in the jaw area, but over time they stretched out and became comfortable. Convenient cord length for connecting to the gamepad.
