The sound is legible, especially in the middle range and at medium volume, but as soon as you add “power”, a wheezing appears at high frequencies, and low ones, which are already very conditional, turn into squelching.

Optimists will say that the sound of the MDR-E9LP reminds them of the vintage sound of the 70s, close to vinyl, only without the characteristic crackle of the needle, and realists — that these headphones cannot fully listen to music, only audio books, radio and watch videos, which, in principle , is usually sufficient for most users.
