Against the backdrop of the “takeoff” of the base model Poco X3, Xiaomi decided to roll out an even more charged version of the “Pocophone” with the Pro prefix. The external appearance of the smartphone has not undergone major changes, but in terms of "iron" quality improvements are evident. In particular, the top-end Snapdragon 860 processor (a refurbished version of the popular "octa-core" Snapdragon 855+) was appointed to manage the operation of the device.

Yes, and the memory for the model was not spared – in the basic configuration, Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is equipped with 6 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 128 GB. Also paying tribute to the screen on a substrate of IPS-panel with a diagonal size of 6.67" and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Takes pictures of the device on a 48 + 8 + 2 + 2 MP quad camera and a 20 MP front camera. An NFC (depending on the model), an infrared port, a side fingerprint scanner, and a capacious 5160 mAh battery were found on board the model. The battery is fully charged at an accelerated rate (33 W) in just 1 hour through the contacts of the symmetrical USB-C connector.

High quality at an affordable price

The Poco brand has accustomed its users to great value-for-money handsets, and the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC successor is no exception to this rule. Of course, a full-fledged "flagship killer" did not work out, but it is worth recognizing that this is one of the most powerful smartphones in the middle segment with near-top features and an affordable price tag. Its basis was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor, which is built on the basis of the flagship chip of previous years Snapdragon 855+. Together with fast UFS 3.1 memory and a decent amount (6/128 GB in the basic version), this gives good performance: the smartphone will handle even demanding games, but you can’t do without a little heating (although the cooling system is announced) and throttling. Also, gamers will appreciate the stereo speakers and the screen of the device — 6.67-inch IPS with a resolution of 2340x1080, support for HDR10 and a refresh rate increased to 120 Hz, which is responsible for the smoothness of the picture.

Good, but not in everything

Another advantage of the model is a capacious 5160 mAh battery. A single charge should last for 11 hours of gaming, 18 hours of video playback, or a day and a half to two days of normal use, while a 33W fast charge will fully charge the battery in 59 minutes. The smartphone is also equipped with an infrared port, a side fingerprint scanner, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a hybrid slot (for two SIM cards or one SIM card and a memory card) and NFC (depending on the region and version).

But the camera here is worse than that of the Poco X3 NFC — the 64-megapixel sensor was replaced with 48 MP. It is complemented by 8 MP “wide” and two auxiliary, that is, less important lenses of 2 MP each for macro shooting and depth estimation. The manufacturer does not rely on the camera, it shoots according to its price tag. That is, in good lighting you get pretty decent photos, indoors and at night the result is also not bad, but not perfect.

Big and brutal

If we evaluate the appearance of Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro, then it is more suitable for men who love heavy, brutal handsets, rather than elegant devices with a thin body. The dimensions of the smartphone are 165.3x76.8x9.4mm and the weight is 215g, so it will be too bulky for a small hand. The case is made of plastic, but no one expected glass in this price segment. The colours of the back cover are interesting — two matte stripes on the sides and a glossy stripe with a large Poco inscription in the middle. As a result, the gadget does not slip and differs from competitors of the same type. Also, its highlight was the design of the main camera. The sensors are located in a rectangular block that is inscribed in a circle. So far, no one has borrowed such a design from Poco, although at one time the famous “bangs” were only a feature of Apple smartphones.
