Unpacked, assembled, connected, and it started working immediately. Only finding the default password took a bit of time, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out where the password was hidden. There is a "simple" settings page that, in my opinion, collects everything most home users need. Honestly, I expected a more complicated setup process. It's been working for the second day without any complaints. Great replacement for the Chinese Xiaomi AX5, which decided to die after two years. I noticed that compared to Xiaomi, WiFi dropped by one bar, but the connection quality improved, meaning the lags became slightly less, and most importantly, the short interruptions disappeared. I concluded that the signal bar measurement is like the average temperature in a hospital. Overall, 1 device is connected via LAN, 5 via WiFi 5, and 1 via WiFi 4. All work without any complaints. Super speed and super coverage! I got it as a replacement for the MikroTik hap ac2 – speed increase is double. It's sufficient for an 80m² apartment, even reaches the hallway when we're hiding and it really helps out. The biggest advantage for me is the PoE power supply. Together with neighbors, we installed an inverter and a battery in the basement for the provider's equipment, now I have uninterrupted internet even when the router isn't plugged in. Works straight out of the box, no additional settings needed - changed the password and off we go. Not a single lag in 6 months. Very satisfied with the purchase. MikroTik hAP ax3 is a dual-band AX1800 class router with support for Wi-Fi 6. The model provides a total throughput of up to 1774 Mbps.
PoE power supply
When connecting devices at a frequency of 2.4 GHz, the theoretical maximum speed is 574 Mbps, and at a frequency of 5 GHz - 1200 Mbps. The Internet connection to the router is made through a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port, which also supports PoE power supply(voltage from 18 to 28 V). This eliminates the need for a separate power supply and provides backup power during power outages.
Proprietary system RouterOS
The router is made in a perforated elongated case and is equipped with two external antennas with a gain of 3.3 dBi for the 2.4 GHz band and 5.5 dBi for the 5 GHz band. The coverage area of the device covers a three-room apartment or a small country house. The router runs on the RouterOS operating system, which may seem complicated for untrained users, but provides maximum customization options.
Flexibility of placement
The router is equipped with a USB 3.2 gen1 port, which can be used to create an FTP server or connect an external LTE modem. The device can be placed both horizontally and vertically using the included stand. For wall mounting there are dowels included in the delivery set.
