Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2

Microsoft's second generation of compact ultrabooks from the popular Surface series, featuring 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen displays. Unlike the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro models, this line sits somewhere in the middle between entry-level and mid-range, being a kind of lightweight version of the regular Surface. Designed for students, marketers, journalists, entrepreneurs and a host of other user groups looking for a well-balanced touch ultrabook.

The centerpiece of the device is a 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen (IPS-matrix) with a resolution of 1536x1024 pixels, a 3:2 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The display is not the most impressive, from the older Surface models it got a protective glass and a built-in light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness level of the display. Like older brothers, Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has completely switched to the Intel Evo hardware platform.

In particular, only 4-core Intel Core i5 Tiger Lake processors are installed in this line. This is the 11th generation of Intel chips, in which the manufacturer has not yet switched to the current hybrid scheme for dividing cores into P and E-cores. The combination of an energy-efficient processor and energy-efficient LPDDR4X memory allows this little one to keep a charge for 13-14 hours, which makes it a very interesting option for users who prefer high mobility over performance. Fortunately, a stylish and miniature ultrabook in a strict aluminium case weighs only 1.13 kg and does not burden the owner in any way when constantly carried in a bag or backpack. Additional equipment of the series includes speakers with Dolby Audio, a TPM security module, a fingerprint scanner built into the power button, and a 720p webcam.
