Microsoft is known not only for the notorious Windows operating system. Under the sign of the brand, very decent ultrabooks are produced with a winning combination of price and quality. This is confirmed by the Surface Laptop 4 model with a 13.5-inch diagonal screen.
Touchscreen
The laptop is assembled in an elegant aluminium case with a thickness of about 15 mm. The top half of the device is occupied by an IPS-screen PixelSense Display with a resolution of 2256x1504 pixels and touch control support. The display of the model is completely sharpened for working with texts, graphics and tables. But games are not his forte. The standard screen refresh rate of 60 Hz and the low response time of the IPS panel (measured in numerous independent tests) affect. The screen comes with an ambient light sensor that allows you to adjust the brightness according to the ambient light conditions.
Hardware platform
The ultrabook is powered by a 12-thread Ryzen 5 4680U processor from the AMD Zen 2 Renoir family. The "iron" ins and outs of the device is supported by an integrated Vega 6 video card and 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The performance of the laptop is also affected by the use of a 256 GB SSD M.2 SSD. By the way, this is the only replaceable component part - in terms of upgrade options, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 13.5 inch frankly grazes the rear.
Long-playing character
The laptop's connectivity includes one full-sized USB A port, a USB-C connector, an audio output, and a proprietary Surface Connect port for charging and branded accessories. Neither Thunderbolt 4 nor USB 4 support is provided here. The laptop is unlocked using the Windows Hello biometric authentication system. Of the other features of the model , a rather decent battery life is noted apart - when solving problems of a standard nature, the ultrabook stays afloat for up to 17 hours without power supply from the outside. And the model has high-quality stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.
