A high-end tablet from Apple, the successor to the iPad Air 2, released in 2017. It is worth noting that the creators themselves simply called this device “iPad” (like their very first tablet, which appeared back in 2010). However, it is more correct to compare this model not with the “namesake”, but with its predecessor. So, outwardly, the Apple iPad 9.7 "New tablet does not differ much from the previous model: the same aluminium case, the same fingerprint scanner in the Home button, the same advanced Retina display with a resolution of 2048x1536.
Except that the device has become a little thicker - 7.5 mm versus 6.1 mm.But the processor uses a newer and more powerful chip A9 ("desktop level", according to the manufacturer).Another hardware update is an "upgrade" of Bluetooth to version 4.2.In terms of memory, this model belongs to the junior level, it carries a drive of only 32 GB (traditionally, without the possibility of expansion).The rear camera has remained virtually unchanged - however, we recall that this is an advanced 8-megapixel module with a stabilizer, autofocus and support for Full HD video.

After using an Android tablet, this is simply awesome. Even though it's a "budget" iPad, it is worth the money. Buying this specific model in 2019 doesn't make much sense as there's a newer version with an updated processor and features. However, even this device will last for 3-4 years, since Apple's product support is extremely long-lasting, and there is no need to frequently replace such a device. I bought the version without 3G. I didn't notice any gap between the screen and the glass, maybe if you put it next to another iPad without a gap, you might see a difference, but I find it very comfortable to use. The display itself is of very high quality, watching movies and series is a pleasure. My usage scenarios are not demanding: videos, internet surfing, and a few games. Occasionally, the tablet is used for video calls, although the front camera quality could be better. Also, something I found very useful is the built-in "Books" app, which is great for storing course materials in PDF format, and you can make various notes right in the app that are then saved in iCloud, which is super convenient. The battery lasts a very long time; if you're surfing the web and watching videos for a couple of hours a day, it can last for 4-5 days. However, if you play games, the battery starts to drain noticeably faster, and it gets slightly warm during intensive gaming sessions. ITunes crutches that personally annoy me, and the convoluted process of transferring files or videos to the tablet through multiple steps, unlike in Android. The front camera could be better.
