Great camera for the money and size

I was looking for a compact camera for YouTube video. I took this new product. And I didn’t regret it. The lens is very cool. Takes better photos than a Canon DSLR with lenses. Shoots 4K clearly. Lots of settings, everything can be customized.
4K, photo and video quality, super autofocus, color rendition, rotating screen, small and convenient.
No 4K 60fps

A camera with a number of flaws to consider.

Before you buy think carefully, If only for a blog, there are simpler options. For example, a Panasonic 980 video camera. There is no photo there. But the video is great.
Everything that previous reviewers have written.
1. very weak battery. 2. video stabilizer is terrible. Most likely designed for bloggers to shoot only with a tripod. 3. If you attach the handle to the socket, forget about quickly changing the battery. 4. most importantly: The battery can ONLY be charged through the camera. Imagine you have four of them, and tomorrow at six in the morning (as it happened to me) a bus arrives to take you for a whole day to magical places where you want to shoot non-stop. Personally, I had a trip to the Dominican Republic to the islands where they filmed the show "Survivor". I wanted to shoot such beauty in 4K, and my batteries only lasted for 1.5 hours. It was later that I got smarter and bought a charger for 3 batteries at once and a powerful power bank. How can you not include a separate charger in the kit? Shame on Sony. 5. Sometimes it overheats when shooting 4k video if the scene requires continuous shooting for 20-25 minutes. It happened to me once when filming an opera singer from a tripod.

The Sony ZV-1 is the closest relative of the popular RX100 line of advanced compact cameras. The model was released to the masses with an eye on video bloggers — it takes into account the lion's share of the needs of content creators. And that's why.

miniature dimensions

The camera is sharpened in a miniature body of the weight category "up to 300 g". Paired with a rechargeable battery and a microSD memory card, its weight is only 294 g. To ensure the convenience of the “baby” grip, a small rubber handle is placed under the user's right hand. On the same side face, “under cover” of the plugs, there is a microphone input, a microUSB multi-connector and a microHDMI port. The camera's on-board microphone has a three-capsule directional design and comes with a "furry" windscreen.

Internal hardware

The protagonist of the Sony ZV-1 is the EXMOR RS inch back-illuminated image sensor, backed up by the powerful BIONZ X processor and fast ZEISS optics with a selection of the most sought-after 24-70mm equivalent focal lengths. The value of the maximum aperture of the built-in lens "floats" in the range from f / 1.8 to f / 2.8 (depending on the set focal length). In general, the internal “hardware” of the camera does an excellent job with both photo and video shooting. However, the small physical size of the matrix imposes restrictions on shooting at high ISO values — above ISO 1600 the picture can be spoiled by noise artifacts.

With an eye on vloggers

Vloggers prioritize the camera for a number of key programme points. Firstly, the model does an excellent job of recording videos in 4K resolution (including vertical ones). At the same time, the profiles S-Gamut3.Cine / S-Log3, S-Gamut3 / S-Log3 are available to the operator. Secondly, the camera focuses confidently on the eyes and can quickly switch between two levels of background blur during shooting (Bokeh Switch function). And thirdly, the Sony ZV-1 has a swivel screen with touch controls for sighting from any angle. The icing on the cake is the moderately affordable cost of the camera, for which you can turn a blind eye to the lack of a viewfinder in its on-board equipment and short battery life.
