I've already bought more than one cooler from be quiet! and this one hasn't disappointed; for me, it's the only brand when it comes to cooling—quiet, high-quality, and they never let me down. I'm always focused on maximum silence when building a PC. It has a TDP with a margin; with my Ryzen 7 5800X, it keeps it at 40°C at rest, can jump to 70 during game loading, but then stabilizes at 60-65°C while playing. Silence is a whole other topic—you just won't hear it in a room with any background noise, thanks to the hydrodynamic bearing. Installation was straightforward; I figured it out without instructions. The compact size is a big plus—it doesn't block RAM slots, so even tall memory can be installed without issues. It looks great—matte black with an aluminum top cover, no lighting at all, which is just what's needed. be quiet! Dark Rock Slim is the most compact tower CPU cooler from the German brand's new line (TDP up to 180W). In addition, it is the company's quietest processor cooler: barely audible 23.6 dBa at 1500 rpm (maximum rotation speed of the supplied fan) and absolutely silent 11 dB at 750 rpm (half speed).
Copper and aluminium
The Dark Rock Slim heatsink consists of four 6mm copper heat pipes and 51 aluminium plates. The whole structure is covered in matte black paint with the addition of ceramic particles for better heat transfer. The cooler contacts the processor through a solid sole for better heat distribution over all tubes in case the processor die is not square, but rectangular (typical for Intel processors of previous generations).

The main advantage of Dark Rock Slim is its small size. Moderate height of 16 cm allows you to fit it into almost any, even relatively inexpensive computer case. Due to the low thickness of the radiator, the DIMM slots do not overlap at all, which makes it possible to install high memory modules without any problems. And the light weight of 620 grams minimizes the risk of bending the motherboard textolite.

Complete with be quiet! Dark Rock Slim comes with a tube of branded thermal paste and an extra pair of brackets for attaching a second fan. If you want to increase cooling efficiency without increasing noise levels, you should take a closer look at the 12 cm be quiet! Silent Wing 3 PWM. Dark Rock Slim is compatible with all current processor sockets: AMD AM4, AM3+, Intel LGA1151, 1150, 2066, 2011, etc. The only exceptions are highly specialized AMD Theadripper processors, they require a specialized Be quiet Dark Rock Pro TR4 cooler.
