The heart of the Ryzen 9 7900X is its 12 powerful cores with a base clock speed of 3.4 GHz and turbo boost up to 5.6 GHz. An improved internal design and refined architecture of functional units have significantly increased both the specific performance of single cores (up to +15% IPC) and their ability to work in tandem.
The technology of Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) allows each of the 12 physical cores of the AMD Ryzen 9 processor to simultaneously execute two streams of calculations (up to 24 threads). Another important feature of the Zen 4 architecture is the doubling of the L2 cache capacity from 512KB to 1MB per core. The L3 cache volume, as in last year's Ryzen 9 chips, is 64 MB. One of the key advantages of this processor is the support for the new PCIe 5.0 interface, which ensures maximum rapid data transfer between the processor, motherboard, graphics card, and memory, resulting in more rational and efficient use of system resources.
Another interesting feature of the chip is support for AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM) technology, which allows it to interact with DDR5 memory and Radeon graphics cards with unprecedented efficiency.
