Even stronger, more autonomous and more functional
The third generation of T-Rex from Amazfit is a smartwatch released in 2024, which is mainly suitable for sports and outdoor activities. Compared to T-Rex 2, the model has become larger (diameter 48.5 mm versus 47 mm), but has almost not changed in weight. The screen diagonal has increased to 1.5 inches (instead of 1.39) and the battery capacity is 700 mAh (versus 500 mAh). As a result, Amazfit T-Rex 3 is now even more autonomous - up to 27 days without recharging.
Although the case remains plastic, a steel bezel has been added, plus there is cool moisture protection (10 ATM), shock resistance of military class MIL-STD-810. Operation is supported in frost down to -30 °C, and with the ability to use navigation and more. In terms of functionality, the watch has also taken a step forward. For example, a microphone with a speaker appeared, which allows you to make Bluetooth calls.
Cool screen and operating system
The display of the model is based on an AMOLED matrix with a good resolution (480x480 pixels), increased brightness up to 2000 nits, protective Gorilla Glass and support for several hundred different watch faces. The proprietary Zepp OS operating system allows the installation of applications and has a built-in AI assistant based on GPT4 - it is stated that now, in addition to touching the screen and pressing physical buttons, you can effectively interact with the watch by voice, including for settings, starting workouts, communicating in messengers (the "speech to text" function).
Sports and health monitoring
The model is equipped with BioTracker — a heart rate monitor that measures the level of oxygen in the blood. Other sensors are also available — a thermometer, barometer, altimeter, compass. A separate reason to be proud is the GPS module, which has advanced privacy settings and a set of functions typical for advanced watches — tracking, saving points, reminders about deviations from the route, etc.
177 sports modes are supported, and the model recognizes 25 workouts automatically. To track your health, in addition to non-stop heart rate monitoring, the stress level and sleep quality are analyzed, reminders of low or high heart rate, breathing exercises, etc. are available. The only thing missing is contactless payment, but otherwise the Amazfit T-Rex 3 is a good smartwatch that can compete with Garmin.
