Enhanced Ultra
The second generation of Ultra smartwatches from Samsung has significantly evolved both in hardware and software. The built-in memory capacity has doubled to 64 GB, and the new Dynamic Lug System for fastening straps makes their replacement more convenient. The model now features integration with Google Gemini: artificial intelligence can now read incoming emails aloud, compose message replies, and perform other tasks. Engineers have also improved fitness tracking, enhanced the accuracy of the dual-frequency GPS, and navigation as a whole, including built-in maps and the Track Back function — a return to the starting point of the route, which is useful during hikes or runs.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 has gained extra sensors: ECG is now joined by blood pressure measurement, vascular load monitoring, and sleep apnea detection. Battery life remains at a respectable level — up to 60 hours with the Always On Display active and up to 100 hours in power-saving mode, which is an excellent indication for devices running on Wear OS.
Durable and ready for any challenge
The smartwatch case is made of titanium, and the bright AMOLED display (up to 3000 nits) is protected by sapphire glass. Durability is confirmed by the military standard MIL-STD-810, and water resistance meets IP68 and 100 WR (10 ATM) standards, allowing the device to be used while swimming, in heat, and in cold down to -20°C. Sports enthusiasts have access to a wide range of fitness modes, including triathlon, as well as advanced metrics like Functional Threshold Power (FTP) for cyclists.
The built-in speaker and microphone allow for Bluetooth calls, while LTE and e-SIM support enable connectivity even without a smartphone. The watch also supports contactless payments through Samsung Pay. Important safety features include an SOS mode with an 86 dB siren and automatic fall detection. The smartwatch integrates seamlessly with other Samsung devices, offering additional interaction scenarios.
Drawbacks include a somewhat polarizing design inherited from the previous model: the case has a rectangular shape reminiscent of the Apple Watch Ultra. If this aspect is not a concern, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 can be considered the best watch in the brand's lineup and possibly one of the top solutions on the Wear OS platform.
