Countdown timer

— a function that allows you to automatically take measurements after a specified period of time. A kind of analogue of shooting on a timer in cameras: just point the device at the desired point, turn on the countdown — and at the end of it the device will work itself.

This function is mainly used to eliminate the twitching of the body, which inevitably occurs when measuring manually (at the touch of a button); this is especially useful for high-precision measurements and/or when using the instrument from a tripod or other stand.
