Copper

— a material found in the sheathing of relatively inexpensive acoustic guitar strings (with bronze or steel cores) and classical guitars. In fact, it is a low-cost analogue of yellow bronze. The sound of the copper braid is smoothed in frequencies, but relatively deaf and without a characteristic bronze colour.
