Each MIDI signal is a kind of "blank" for sound: it contains information about the pitch of the note, as well as the strength, speed and duration of the keystroke. There is no timbre data in such a signal, which means that the same MIDI signal can be played in different timbres (depending on the settings on the instrument). The input for such signals can be useful, for example, for recording a melody from external "keys" that are not equipped with a sequencer; to receive and play the accompanying part; When you connect an instrument that has special functions that are not available for the Digital Piano, but does not have the desired Voices. for signal switching to other devices (see "Outputs — MIDI thru"), etc.
