In digital pianos, transposition is usually understood as at least the ability to tune the instrument so that each key sounds higher or lower by a given number of semitones. This allows you to play a familiar melody in a different key on the same keys as before. Such an opportunity is indispensable if suddenly there is a need to play in a different key, and the musician's skills are not enough to rebuild "on the go". In addition, transposition can be applied in other ways — for example, for already recorded melodies when mixing recordings on a sequencer (see the relevant paragraph).
