The first option is considered more advanced both in terms of sound and in terms of instrument durability (some types of wood only improve acoustic properties over time). At the same time, completely one-piece cases are difficult to manufacture and cost a lot. Therefore, only the top deck is often made of solid wood — the “outer” surface of the body, on which the string stand (bridge) and the resonator hole (socket) are located. This allows you to achieve good sound quality without a significant increase in the cost of the instrument.
