Acoustic guitars with pickup
Pickup
— a module for transmitting a sound signal from a guitar to external equipment (for example, a concert amplifier) via a standard audio output. Usually, it is installed inside the deck. This design feature greatly facilitates the use of the guitar with external equipment: no need to bother with the instrument's sounding with a separate microphone, it is enough to connect the pickup output to the signal receiver. In addition, the pickup is often combined with a built-in tuner and/or equalizer (see related paragraphs). This function can be used in all types of guitars (see "Type"), except for purely acoustic — in the presence of a pickup, such an instrument automatically goes into the category of electro-acoustic.
