AAC

— AAC is a codec mainly used in Apple's portable devices to improve the sound transmitted via Bluetooth. In this sense, it is similar to aptX (see relevant sections), but it is noticeably inferior in capabilities: while aptX sound is compared to Audio CD, AAC is at the level of a medium-quality MP3 file. However, for listening to the same MP3s, this is quite sufficient, and the difference becomes noticeable only with more advanced formats.
