USB (Type B)

— interface for connecting an amplifier to a computer's USB port and transmitting sound digitally; in other words, a connector for using the amplifier as an external sound card.

Note that formally USB Type B is a strictly defined type of USB connector with a distinctive square shape; this type of connector is typically used in stationary models (see "Type"). However, in portable devices, other types of ports can serve this role—such as microUSB; nevertheless, they are also referred to as USB Type B in such cases.
