Torches with built-in battery
Proprietary battery
— powered by its own branded battery, not related to standard sizes. The unequivocal advantage of all such flashlights is that their operation is not associated with additional expenses: you do not need to regularly buy additional batteries. However the battery itself may not be included in the package; however, it is enough to make such a purchase once, further expenses are not required. But the more specific features of flashlights with such a power supply may be different; it depends primarily on whether the battery is included in the initial delivery set (see "Packaging").
Most often, the battery is still supplied with the flashlight; this option is found in all types of lanterns, except for construction ones (see "Type"), while the battery can be either removable or completely non-removable. However, in both cases it is, usually, a highly specialized battery designed for a specific flashlight model (or for a line of models with similar characteristics). To charge the batteries directly in the flashlight (if such a possibility is provided), a standard USB connector is often used, however, there are models with branded chargers. If the removable battery does not allow charging in the flashlight, it usually requires a specialized charger. Anyway, such power supplies are generally more compact and at the same time more powerful and capacious than replaceable batteries; however, they cannot be quickly changed when discharging — they will have to be charged, which takes a lot of time and requires a power source.
In turn, if the rechargeable flashlight is not equipped with a battery, it usually belongs to the construction ones. An interesting feature of such devices is that they do not use specialized power sources, but standard batteries for power tools (and other similar equipment) of the same brand. Thanks to this, the search and selection of batteries is noticeably simplified, while the choice of such batteries is quite extensive. If desired, you can buy several batteries at once, so that you can quickly change them if necessary. And if “the household” already has a power tool of the same brand, it is quite possible that its battery will also be suitable for a flashlight, and additional purchases will not be needed at all.
