Hinged mechanism

This category includes both handheld flashlights and "lamp" models with a leg/stand, where the angle of illumination is adjusted by tilting the stand. Such a joint is often combined with a magnetic tail and a clip: place it on metal, turn the head — and you have a convenient work lamp for under-the-hood tasks, an electrical panel, construction, or camping, and on the table, it replaces a desk light. Compared to flashlights with a fixed head, the swivel mechanism provides flexible aiming and saves motion but requires quality design: a strong axis, solid click, and absence of play to prevent the unit from "sagging" during vibrations or prolonged use.
