This type of cage works well in currents and for long-distance casting: the bait doesn't spill out during flight, and on the bottom, it quickly starts releasing small particles, attracting fish to the spot. Compared to closed container feeders, the mesh dissolves more quickly and is less suitable for maggot/worm, but is more versatile for mixes; and compared to a flat Method feeder, the cage does better with looser bait and releases particles more actively, but usually holds the feed a bit less "precisely."
