T-shaped

— the presence of a T-shaped crossbar at the end of the shovel handle. Such a device is provided for a more reliable hold — in particular, so that the handle does not turn and the contents of the web do not fall from the shovel ahead of time. T-handles are less popular than similarly designed D-handles (see the relevant paragraph), but for some users and situations they are more convenient.
