Shovels with steel shaft

— steel shafts are usually combined with steel blades, while the handle is riveted or welded to the blade and is non-removable. The main advantage of this material over all others is its high strength, which makes it optimal for heavy and long-term work. The weight of the tool, however, turns out to be considerable, but this can be both a disadvantage and an advantage (for example, a massive shovel penetrates dense soil more easily). But the obvious disadvantages include a higher cost than wood, and the impossibility of replacing the sfaft in case of breakage.

Another area of application for steel handles is camping and car shovels of folding or telescopic design: for a number of reasons, this material is considered optimal for such a tool.
