This feature is definitely a sign of an advanced device with extensive multimedia features. This is related to two things. Firstly, IPS screens are usually made quite large — from 5 "and more. Secondly, all such screens are colour by definition, and the colour reproduction quality is quite high and almost does not depend on viewing angles. However, IPS matrices also cost noticeably more expensive than simpler screens, so it makes sense to use them just in multimedia radios, where image quality is no less important than sound quality.
