Metal with stone

Most devices with this feature are raclette grills (see "Type"). The specific combination of materials can vary, but the most popular configuration is a combination of stone and metal surfaces. In this configuration, the stone surface is usually smooth, while the metal surface can be either smooth or corrugated (see "Form of plates"). This combination allows for the simultaneous cooking of different types of food. After cooking, the hot contents can be transferred to the stone surface, which retains heat well and keeps the food warm. Another less common variation is raclette grills with two interchangeable plates: one made of metal and the other made of stone. These grills are similar in many ways to the first variety but do not allow for the simultaneous use of different materials.
