Electric grills with ceramic plates

— ceramic and glass-ceramic surfaces are primarily found in contact grills, though there are other devices with plates made from these materials, including barbecue grills (see "Type"). Such surfaces have excellent non-stick properties and are easy to clean — ceramic can even be cleaned with abrasive materials if necessary. On the other hand, ceramic surfaces need to be protected from impacts and significant temperature fluctuations, as these can lead to chips, cracks, and peeling of the grill's working surface.
