The Slim index in the title describes one of the key differences from the original Playstation 4 — a thinner and more compact body. But there is no fundamental difference between this model and its predecessor. Processor — also improved, although of the same family — AMD Jaguar; this allowed to keep the amount of RAM at 8 GB.

In fact, this portable console is a low-cost version of the PSP and is a device for those who need games first of all, and additional features are not so critical. So, it does not have a Wi-Fi module and does not support network access at all, the screen has a resolution of 480x272, and the hardware includes a modest 333 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM. On the other hand, the volume of the built-in storage has increased to 120 GB (in the minimum configuration), and power consumption has decreased by 30% with the same hardware basis: 8-core processor with 3.2 GB, 256 MB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive.
