True to its name, this model is a further development and improvement of the advanced desktop console PlayStation 4, modified to meet the top class for the fall of 2016. Older sister
Both the original PlayStation 4 and its cheaper Slim version launch most modern games at a resolution of only 1600x900 pixels, with a frame rate of less than 30 and average (by PC standards) game settings. And the 900p picture looks like on 1080p, and even more so on a 4K TV, to put it mildly, not perfect. To solve this problem, a special Pro version of the console was released in parallel with the PS4 Slim, which costs $100 more.
Growing Teraflops
If the PS4 Pro processor was only slightly overclocked (from 1.6 to 2.13 GHz), then the graphics accelerator was replaced with a new one, twice as powerful as the previous one (performance - 4 versus 2 Teraflops). As a result, the Pro version turned out to be even larger than the original PS4, but at the same time it remained more compact than most gaming PCs.
Generation 4K
The PS4 Pro offers three profiles for game graphics settings to choose from: 1080p at 30 FPS at ultra graphics settings, 1080p at 60 FPS at high graphics settings, and 4K at 30 FPS at medium graphics settings. Here, what is more important to someone: maximum graphic effects, high smoothness of the picture, or an ultra-high resolution that matches the TV. It is the owners of 4K TVs that are the main target audience for the PS4 Pro.
