Thermal imaging cameras
Thermal imaging
— cameras that form an image not by visible light but by the thermal radiation of objects, thus capable of detecting a person, car, or animal even in complete darkness. A thermal imaging camera can either be a separate specialized camera or an additional function of a regular optical camera within a combined surveillance system, where one module handles the classic video and the other the thermal image. In security systems, these solutions are particularly valued for stable operation at night, over large open areas, and in difficult weather conditions, where a regular camera is hindered by low lighting, fog, smoke, or glare. Compared to traditional cameras, they are less suitable for recognizing fine details like a face or number plates, but significantly more effective for early motion detection and perimeter control. For example, they are often used in warehouses, industrial facilities, parking lots, along fences, and on private property with a large yard.| thermal imaging | clear | Save List |
