Surveillance cameras with active protection

 

— active protection refers to the alarm system built into the camera itself.

Such an alarm can be light (strobe flashes) or sound (siren); many models combine both methods at once. Anyway, active protection performs two functions: it confuses and scares off the intruder, and also draws the attention of others to the situation. The ways of triggering such systems can be different: by a motion detector in the chamber, by a signal from an external sensor, when an attempt to open the case is detected, etc.; on some models, the strobe and/or siren can also be activated manually by the operator.
