Parallax adjustment
— the presence of this function allows the shooter to independently rebuild the sight from parallax.The phenomenon of parallax is mainly subject to optical sights (see "Type"). It lies in the fact that when the shooter's eye shifts from the optical axis of the sight, the visible position of the aiming mark also shifts, although the sight remains stationary. In other words, in the absence of proper detuning from parallax, you need to keep your eye strictly in the centre — otherwise the visible aiming point will not correspond to the real one. The detuning itself is usually carried out directly at the factory, but the problem is that it can only be done for a certain distance; with significant deviations from this distance (more than 30% downwards or 60% upwards), the parallax effect again begins to appear, and it has to be compensated by the perfect “eye strictly in the centre” tab), which can be difficult even for experienced shooters. The situation is aggravated by the fact that factory adjustment is usually carried out for distances of only 100 – 150 m, which is very little for an optical sight. And to correct the situation, manual detuning is just used — it allows the user to manually set the distance for which the sight will be detuned from parallax. This can make aiming a lot easier, especially for an inexperienced shooter.
