Microphone mute

— the ability to temporarily turn off the microphone of the device — usually by pressing a special button. This feature is useful in cases where you need to be distracted from the conversation and say something “aside”, something that is not intended for the user on the other end of the line. Note that in many cases, the microphone can also be turned off using software — through the phone settings or applications for voice communication; however, doing this with a dedicated button is often more convenient than getting to the settings.
