Headphone output game controllers
Headphone output
— the manipulator has its own output for connecting headphones or a headset. The convenience of this exit lies in the fact that the game controller, when used, is constantly in the hands of the user — that is, very close to the player's ears. So connecting wired headphones to the controller is usually much more convenient than pulling the wire directly to the gaming device. This feature is especially relevant for accessories used with desktop consoles — such a console can be quite far from the user.
Most models with a headphone output are referred to as gamepads (see "Device"), although there are other types of manipulators with this function. The outputs themselves are usually made in the form of 3.5 mm mini-jack sockets — this is the connection used by most modern headphones. At the same time, traditional headphones can be connected to game controllers with virtually no restrictions; but compatibility with headsets in each case should be specified separately.
