ABS

— one of the most popular modern varieties of plastic, not only in 3D printing but also in general. The main advantages of ABS are its strength, rigidity, and durability—by these criteria, this material significantly surpasses PLA and most photopolymers. Additionally, it is cost-effective. ABS plastic has a glossy surface, is usually opaque, and can come in any colour. The disadvantages of this material include a relatively high melting temperature (around 230 °C), requiring significant heating, and an unpleasant odor during use. Moreover, if unevenly heated, the finished product may warp or crack—working with ABS plastic often necessitates heated platforms or other specialized equipment.
