Speakers with USB port
USB port
— the term "USB-port" in acoustic systems can mean two types of connectors. The first option is the USB B input, designed to connect the speaker to the USB port of a computer or laptop and transmit a digital audio signal. Such a connection may turn out to be more preferable than working with the line-out of a sound card, and for two reasons at once. Firstly, the outputs of the audio card can be busy, faulty, or even absent altogether. Secondly, USB speakers can be equipped with high-end built-in DACs that provide better sound quality than the average sound card.
The second option for the USB input is a USB A connector (as in the same PCs), designed to connect various peripherals to the speaker itself. Most often, models with such a connector have a built-in player that allows you to play music from a USB flash drive or other external drive; in addition, the USB A connector can be used to charge smartphones and other gadgets.
