Acoustic systems with subwoofer phase control
— the presence of phase control in the complete speaker subwoofer.
Due to the difference in the distance to the individual components of the acoustics, as well as other technical reasons (for example, the imperfection of the amplifier), the sound heard by the user from different speakers may be phase shifted — in other words, the sound waves from the subwoofer may slightly outpace the corresponding vibrations from the main speakers, or fall behind them. This negatively affects the overall sound quality. Phase adjustment corrects the situation by slightly shifting the sound of the subwoofer in time and achieving accurate synchronization.
