Large volume, fairly quiet Still, 5400 rpm is quite low, it takes a while to think when you open a folder. |
Excellent purchase. Good hard drive. Fast, quiet, SATA III, what is especially pleasing is the presence of 64MB cache. Great. If desired, you can install the system on the hard drive if you're reluctant to spend money on an SSD, and use the operating system comfortably. It doesn't heat up much. So far, everything is fine with the hard drive. There haven't been any problems, and no bad sectors have appeared in the past six months. |
Advised to get a lot of storage for a reasonable price from a reputable brand, I bought it and have no regrets. Bought it for home use - massive media library, didn't want to overpay so I went for the green 3TB. Quiet operation, especially compared to my old drive. After 2 hours of watching a movie and simultaneously copying from the old drive, it barely heated up. The old one could practically fry an egg. As happy as a clam with the right choice made. does not make noise, large capacity, does not get hot not found |

In terms of noise, it's very calm: there's a light rustling, but nothing annoying. By comparison, the WD Blue at 7200 RPM is significantly louder, especially when it starts actively seeking with the heads. The Green seems very delicate in this context.
Overall, it's a simple, large-capacity, reliable drive for storage—it's not a speed monster, but as a home storage or archive, it fits the bill remarkably well. Right now, it's in my external case where it quietly serves as a file storage.
