This line includes four models of various sizes (from 4 GB to 10 TB) designed for intensive use in critical enterprise-level storage systems and data centers. The design and firmware of the WD Ultrastar DC HC310 3.5″ HUS726T4TALE6L4 hard drive is optimized for 24/7 operation in multi-disk arrays.
This drive is equipped with real-time monitoring and correction of linear and angular vibration. Compared to consumer models, the manufacturer claims a higher resource (550 TB/year with a 5-year warranty) and a significantly lower probability of failure. Due to its exceptional reliability and ability to work with high load for a long time, it will be a good choice for equipping workstations with a heavily loaded disk subsystem. The disc is equipped with a large 256 MB DRAM buffer and uses the classic high-speed CMR magnetic recording method on high-capacity platters rotating at 7200 rpm.
