The youngest model from the family of M.2 SSDs with PCIe Gen3 x4 interface (NVMe v1.3). It is positioned as a product of the base price category in 2019, designed to equip mid-range multifunctional home and gaming personal computers, laptops and low-cost workstations. It features impressive I / O performance, impressive read / write speed (2200/1600 MB / s) and low latency. The Silicon Power P34A60 M.2 SP256GBP34A60M28 SSD is based on the Silicon Motion SM2263XT 4-channel controller.

This chip lacks a DRAM buffer for storing the address translation table, but thanks to HBM (Host Memory Buffer) technology, it can use part of the system memory for this. It is worth noting that only Windows 10 provides full support for HBM technology, and older versions of this operating system may experience a one and a half to twofold decrease in performance. To store user data, high-quality 64-layer TLC 3D NAND flash memory is used. The controller supports high-speed SLC-caching write operations up to 8 GB, which guarantees high performance of the drive as a system disk and other typical home use scenarios. The claimed recording resource (150 TB) allows for 10 years to record 40 GB of data daily.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Silicon Power P34A60 M.2 SSD offers a range of storage capacities, making it versatile for different needs. Users appreciate its affordability and the five-year warranty that provides peace of mind. However, some users have noted that the actual read and write speeds are lower than the advertised 2200 MB/s and 1700 MB/s, respectively, with real-world performance showing 1700 MB/s for reading and 900 MB/s for writing. Despite this, the SSD is described as a reliable workhorse, having served well in both desktop and laptop environments over several years. It does tend to warm up during use, reaching temperatures of 40-45 degrees Celsius, which is something to consider for those concerned with heat management. Overall, while it may not stand out in terms of speed, its reliability and endurance make it a solid choice for everyday use.

My first M.2 NVME drive. I've been using it since the end of December 2020. It was a system drive on a desktop for almost two years, then moved to a laptop for 1 year, and now it's back in the desktop.
By the end of 2023, it doesn't stand out as anything special, but it's a reliable workhorse.
Five-year warranty, 150 TBW write endurance.
When working on a laptop it warms up to 45 degrees, while working on a desktop it feels warmer (40-41 degrees).
