The debut model for 2026 in the Sennheiser profile brand lineup are wired over-ear headphones positioned in the mid-price range. Within the company's range, they can be considered entry-level solutions. In fact, the model is an update of the HD 400S version, where the original cable with a mini-Jack (3.5 mm) is replaced with USB-C, which expands compatibility with modern devices, including smartphones, tablets, iPhone 15 and later, etc.

The detachable cable includes a built-in microphone and controls for managing music playback and/or taking phone calls. The Sennheiser HD 400U headphones feature 32mm dynamic drivers with high sensitivity (up to 120 dB), enough for passive sound isolation even in quite noisy environments (street, public transport, industry).
