Child of two worlds
The Sennheiser HD 25 are somewhat unique and legendary headphones that studio engineers and club DJs love alike. But these guys have completely different requirements for what they want to hear in their headphones.
DJ Favorite
The HD 25 has a classic split headband, drivers with lightweight aluminium coils and a 1.5 metre single ended steel core cable. At first glance, they look very minimalistic — a simple headband with a pillow, a pair of thick, but not too voluminous cups, a minimum of decor. Despite the massive cups, they turned out to be quite light, they do not burden the head, but it is impossible to shake them off with a sharp movement. Plus, they are durable and will survive drops to the ground without any problems. This is one of the reasons why they are so respected by club DJs. Also, thanks to the closed design, they pass a minimum of extraneous noise into the ear canal, and the design allows you to monitor the sound with one ear, which, again, is important for DJs.
Noise is not terrible
But that's not all. They have unique driver characteristics to handle high sound pressure levels while providing maximum readability across the entire frequency spectrum. Even ultra-low bass in a noisy environment is clearly articulated. Although, due to the closed small space of the bass cup, it is sometimes a little too much, it seems to dominate over other instruments. Overall, the Sennheiser HD 25s show excellent tonal balance, a wide sound stage and good detail. They are equally good at a variety of musical genres, whether it's heavy metal or trendy drill. If you have to work hard in a noisy studio or perform on stage, where a couple of kilowatt Funktion-One club speakers are pounding at your side, you definitely can't go wrong with the HD 25.
Sennheiser HD 25 are specially designed, professional monitor headphones that provide high attenuation of the acoustic background. Capable of handling very high sound pressure levels and featuring an extremely rugged construction, these headphones perform exceptionally well in noisy environments such as ENG, sound reinforcement, studio monitoring and audio equipment testing. The capsule is rotatable for listening with one ear. Perfect monitor headphones for operators and disc jockeys
