Structurally, the telephoto uses the optical formula "21 elements in 18 groups", has a 9-bladed aperture and a quiet stepping autofocus motor. At the wide-angle end, the lens is focused from a distance of 50 cm, at the telephoto zoom position — from 1 m. At the same time, the aperture and focus distance are displayed on the digital display. In order to minimize glare and reflections, the model also got Nikon Nano Crystal and Arneo proprietary coatings at its disposal. The model is compatible with filters with a diameter of 77 mm.
