The Nikon Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.2 S 50mm f/1.2 S was the first super-aperture autofocus lens in the line of optics for the Nikon Z mount. This is a top-end prime lens with the highest optical properties.

Autofocus

The model turned out to be close in spirit to another "monstrous" lens Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f / 0.95 S, which is sold at the price of a very good used foreign car. The cardinal difference from it is the presence on board of an autofocus system with two groups of motors for fast and tenacious focus. Autofocus works smoothly and silently, which is also important in video mode.

Erasing the edges

The lens's maximum aperture of f/1.2 gives you full control over the depth of field. The model literally erases the background, leaving impeccable sharpness and detail on the main subject in the frame. At the same time, anti-reflective coatings ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coat eliminate ghosting and glare. You can shoot on the Nikon Nikkor Z 50mm f / 1.2 S in any conditions — dust and water protection of the body protects the "insides" of the lens from atmospheric influences.

Armament

The fixed lens is equipped with a wide soft-rotation focus ring, a programmable L-Fn button and an OLED screen for displaying key shooting parameters. Only the bulky dimensions of the model (89.5x150 mm) and the immodest pricing policy for the product are frustrating.
