The most compact air tower CPU cooler in the popular high-end MSI Core FrozR family. Equipped with four U-shaped heat pipes with a diameter of 6 mm and spectacular RGB LED lighting with support for MSI Mystic Light Sync lighting control technology. It has a moderate weight (715 g) and small dimensions (height 152 mm), which allows it to be installed in the vast majority of ATX/microATX standard cases.
Thanks to an impressive profiled heatsink and a powerful 120 mm fan, it is able to remove and dissipate significant heat fluxes from Mainstream / Performance class processors (Intel and AMD) and High-End DeskTop (Intel only). Installed on motherboards with Intel LGA 2011/2011-v3/1366/115X/775 and AMD AM4/AM3(+)/AM2(+)/FM2/FM1 processor sockets. The manufacturer is positioning itself as a product of the middle price category of 2018, aimed at a wide range of users and fans of the MSI brand. The robust 120mm fan features durable Hydro-Dynamic Bearing, optimized 14-blade impeller design and PWM control. By means of the motherboard, the fan speed can be changed from 500 to 1800 rpm, providing an optimal balance between performance (up to 2 m3/min), static air flow pressure (up to 2.09 mm wg) and noise level (less than 33 dB).

Lightweight Champion
Core Frozr S is MSI's smallest CPU cooler, weighing only 715 grams. Tower coolers up to 800 grams are considered small-sized and do not bear the risk of bending the printed motherboard. The Core Frozr S is 152mm tall (which is even smaller than the typical 155mm), so you don't have to worry about it not fitting into a PC case.
Asymmetrical design
At the heart of the Core Frozr S are four copper heat pipes that are in direct contact with the processor. The heat-dissipating fins are made of aluminium and covered with a decorative casing with a well-recognized "dragon" MSI logo on top. The array of fins is slightly shifted towards the radiator of the power zone of the motherboard, so as not to block the first PCI-E slot into which the graphics card is installed. The first RAM slot also does not overlap at all.
Quiet and smooth
The bundled 12-cm MSI Torx fan deserves special attention (brackets are provided for attaching the second one of the same kind). The high density of the blades paired with the hydrodynamic bearing make this spinner extremely quiet and durable. At a rotation speed of 500 – 1800 rpm, the noise level does not exceed 17 – 34 dBa, and the uptime is up to 150K hours.
Full compatibility
MSI Core Frozr S comes with mounts for all modern processor platforms, including Intel LGA1151/1150, LGA2066/2011 and AMD AM4/AM3, as well as some obsolete ones. The only exception is the highly specialized AMD Threadripper processors with a TR4 socket, but they just need a massive supercooler or dropsy — they are painfully hot.
