Hands during prolonged work at the computer are prone to fatigue. To ensure their more natural position and at the same time reduce the load on the hands, a detachment of ergonomic keyboards is called upon, one of the "fighters" of which is the brainchild of Microsoft.

Ergonomic set

The Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop set, in addition to the keyboard, includes a separate NumPad and an ergonomic mouse. All of them connect to the computer via one USB receiver (hidden in the battery compartment of the mouse). By the way, all elements of the set are powered by batteries of different formats: the mouse is powered by two AA batteries, the keyboard is powered by two AAA batteries, and the digital keypad is powered by a CR2430 battery. Fortunately, it will be extremely rare to replace them (once a year, 3 years and 6 years, respectively).

Blind set

The maximum benefit from a separate keyboard layout for both hands will be obtained by users who own the blind typing technique. The fingers themselves lie on the desired keys, and both the complex curves of the keyboard case and the comfortable soft panel for resting the hands help to keep the hands in the correct position. The keys have a short travel (like laptops), and their pressing is accompanied by a low noise level.

Function block

Experienced users are a little disappointed by the reduced size of the row of function keys and the lack of a separating line between them and the rest of the keyboard. The top row, by the way, has an additional mission of managing multimedia functions. Moreover, instead of the usual role of the button, the keyboard uses a mechanical Fn switch.

Close attention

Smooth curves of the keyboard with a slot in the central part of the case are not the only thing that catches the eye when you first meet the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop. The mouse turned out to be no less interesting in terms of appearance — a kind of “puffy” with a notch for the thumb of the right hand. Due to the proportions and spherical shape, it is more convenient to grip in a small palm. Anyway, the set deserves close attention, albeit separately, because it can be counted on the fingers of one hand equal to it in terms of convenience for long-term work at the computer.
