4K and Excellent Color Reproduction
The LG 27UL850 monitor left an extremely pleasant impression after getting acquainted with it. Although someone might say that it doesn't have true 10-bit, but «8-bit + dithering». It's hard to tell without looking at the monitor's specifications and just evaluating the image quality visually. The monitor showcases high-quality color reproduction (99% sRGB coverage) and pleasantly surprises with its effective factory calibration. Overall, this combination of screen size, color reproduction, and 4K resolution makes it a serious contender for professional graphic content work. At the same time, the LG 27UL850 is a fairly versatile monitor. Thanks to the fast IPS panel, support for FreeSync and HDR400, it keeps up with the times and allows for comfortable gaming. However, with such a price tag, we would like to see a higher refresh rate than the basic 60Hz.
Convenient Stand with Height, Tilt, and Swivel Adjustment
We also liked the build quality, the convenient stand with flexible adjustment of tilt, height, and swivel angle (portrait mode supported), the monitor's design, and of course, the panel itself. It's also worth noting the somewhat unusual software included with the monitor and True Color Pro. The Dual Controller program is responsible for configuring the monitor for simultaneous connection to two computers. In turn, the True Color Pro software is designed to simplify hardware calibration and supports all the most popular calibrators. The built-in USB hub with a USB-C port is also a nice touch.
Built-in Speakers
And the drawbacks ― they're not really drawbacks, just small issues that, if resolved, would make this excellent product almost perfect. The built-in speakers are practically pointless. But this is unlikely to be critical, especially if we're talking about a monitor for working with visual content. And we would like the bottom bezel to be thinner so that all four sides of the bezel look harmonious. You see, it's almost embarrassing to say it out loud, so a medal for this monitor, and let's move on.
