This model is capable of functioning as a monochrome/color inkjet printer with support for duplex printing, a flatbed scanner with auto-feeding of originals (up to 30 pages) and a copier. The key feature of the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 MFP is the use of an improved CISS with front-facing tanks, containers with a built-in valve that protects against accidental spillage, and an improved refilling system.

The low cost of owning such a device is explained by the fact that the cost of ink containers is much less than the price of branded cartridges, while the volume of ink in the containers is 8 times greater -10 times. All refueling operations are organized in such a way that the user can handle them independently. Integration of modules of three types of different interfaces (USB, Wi-Fi, Fast Ethernet LAN) makes it possible to connect the MFP directly to a PC, all-in-one PC, workstation, or integrate it into a local workgroup network.
